Reed Omdal, Spencer Middleton and Jason Baker aren’t finished with high school baseball — not yet.
The three Wolves are slated to play in the 42nd annual Kitsap Senior Baseball Showcase today at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Silverdale, the Kitsap Sun reports.
The baseball games, for seniors only, are affiliated with the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association.
Ten local players will be nominated for the All-State Series, June 13-14 in Yakima.
The game pits players from the Olympic League (Sequim, Bremerton, Port Angeles, Olympic, North Kitsap, Klahowya, Kingston, Port Townsend) against Narrows League squad players (Central Kitsap, South Kitsap).
Port Angeles pitcher/first baseman Danny Romero and catcher Joey Bradley join Sequim’s trio on the Olympic League squad along with Port Townsend third baseman/outfielder Stevie Weaver.
The showcase also features a softball all-star game, highlighting top players from Olympic and Narrows leagues.
Baker posted a team-high .391 batting average with 18 RBIs, five doubles and nine steals.
Middleton hit .297 with five doubles and 16 RBIs. He also had 37 strikeouts on the mound, second on the team to junior Alex Gillis.
Omdal was 6-for-6 in steals, tied for the team lead with four sacrifice hits and scored 13 runs.
