It's a final: Clackamas 65, Peninsula 51 in the opening round of the NWAACC tournament in Kennewick.
The Cougar lead was just three points (50-47) with 4:14 to go until the Pirates simply ran out of gas. Clackamas closed the game on a 15-3 run.
Rylee Peterson had a terrific game for Clackamas with 24 points and 17 rebounds.
Sam Flett had 17 points and eight rebounds while Brooke Helpenstell added 13 points and 12 rebounds for Peninsula.
The Pirates were just 18-of-67 from the field (27 percent) and 4-of-17 (24 percent) from three-point range. P.C. committed 19 turnovers.
Clackamas was 23-of-68 from the floor (34 percent) and 5-of-23 (22 percent) from three-point range.
Peninsula gets the loser of the Yakima Valley/South Puget Sound game at noon tomorrow in a loser-out contest.

Sam Flett and Brooke Helpenstell are keeping P.C. close. Helpenstell has 11 points and 11 rebounds while Flett has 15 points.

With eight minutes left in the game it's a close one: Clackamas leads Peninsula 41-38.

We've got a tie game here in the first round: Peninsula and Clackamas are tied at 31-31 with 15 minutes left.

With a 16-4 run, Clackamas has come back to put Peninsula in a five-point hole at halftime, 28-23.
Sam Flett (eight points) leads Peninsula in scoring but the Pirates are having a hard time getting shots since the six-minute mark of the first half. They're shooting 28 percent from the field and have hit just one of nine three-point tries.
In addition, both Flett and starter Krystal Tolliver both have three fouls.
Fortunately, P.C.'s defensive pressure is holding Clackamas within striking distance. Clackamas is shooting just 37 percent from the field, 14 percent from three-point range and has 11 turnovers.
