Welcome to Mike’s Sequim Gazette sports blog! I’ll be your host, your moderator, your guide in this, the first-ever blog completely devoted to all things sports and recreation in the greater Sequim-Dungeness Valley.

For those of you who are new to blogging … well … so am I. In fact, I’m guessing most of you who visit will have more experience with blogs than I do, at running one anyway … but I read an awful lot of sports blogs and hopefully that carries over.

The basic rules about this blog are the same as most others: stay on topic, don’t use foul language or names or whatever, keep it interesting, etc.

The Sequim Sports Blog is open to all Sequim sports, from middle school and high school and college/junior college sports to pro sports, recreational stuff, hiking, biking, horseshoes, whatever. Try to keep it local but if you want to sound off about the Mariners, Huskies, Cougars, Vikings (WWU, my school), Geoducks (Evergreen State), the Lutes (PLU) or whomever you root for —or against — then go for it.

Got a story to tell about a Sequim sports event? A comment on the latest game? Knowledge of some long-since-forgotten piece of Sequim sports trivia? Need to kill a few minutes while you’re waiting through those lame commercials that come before highlights on ESPN’s game recaps? You’re in the right place.

For a little while, this blog will predominantly feature text but I’m working on getting some more multimedia. We’ll get some comments going soon as well. As always, you can write me at miked@sequimgazette.com, too.
