McArdle sinks ace

at Dungeness

Sequim's Brian McArdle sank a hole-in-one at The Cedars at Dungeness on May 20, his second lifetime ace - about 30 years after his first.

McArdle used a 6-iron to drive the 155 yards on hole No. 4.

Bill Rucker of Sequim, Tim Lane of Sequim and Joe Tomita of Port Angeles witnessed the feat.



Sequim U-18 Baseball hosts dinner, auction

The Sequim U-18 Baseball club, a summer league for local teenage baseball players, is hosting a fundraising auction at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, at John Wayne Marina, 2577 West Sequim Bay Road.

Dinner is at 6 p.m. and is provided by Jeremiah's Barbecue.

Cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple.

Horse show

set for June 6-7

The Olympic Game Riders host an Open Performance Horse Show and Open Horse Gaming Show to benefit Silver Spurs 4-H Club on Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Port Townsend.

Gaming classes are Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Performance classes start at

9 a.m. on Sunday. Performance classes are $8 each for entries postmarked by June 2, with a $1 late fee per class for entries the day of show.

The show features day-high point awards for all age groups for qualifying classes.

Sign-up for gaming classes are the day of show and entry fees are $2 per class with a $5 arena fee.

Camping with or without full hook-ups and horse stalls are available. Concession items are available for purchase. For more information or show forms, call Glenda Meek at 360-385-0195.



Fred Hill tops Air Flo

in Babe Ruth play

The Fred Hill baseball club came from behind to defeat Air Flo's Jr. Babe Ruth squad 15-8 in a contest dominated by weather and errant defense on May 11.

Outfielder Skyler Lewis roped a two-run double to start a two-out, eight-run rally in the bottom of the fifth inning. Tyler Campbell was 1-for-1 with a triple and four RBIs and catcher Lane Steichen was 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and an RBI.

Campbell also pitched a complete game for the victory, striking out 11 while only allowing three earned runs.

Ray Montelius powered Air Flo's early lead with an RBI single and a two-run triple in route to a 2-for-4 day at the dish. Josh McMinn scored twice and starting pitcher Jared McMinn stymied Fred Hill's bats through the first three innings.



SARC offers Pilates, Yoga classes

The Sequim Aquatic recreation center is offering two separate classes, Pilates and yoga, on Monday and Friday mornings beginning in June.

Minimum enrollment must be met for both classes or they may be canceled.
