Lady Luck apparently had the night off. Or, perhaps, she's a Trojan fan.

Either way, the Wolves missed upsetting the 3A Olympic Trojans at home on Jan. 16 by one lucky bounce.

Trojan Kyle Featherstone hit a put-back off a missed free throw in the second overtime for the game-clincher as Olympic edged the host Sequim squad 51-48 on Friday night.

Ary Webb and John Textor had 17 points each in the loss.

It's the third time the Wolves have lost by four points or fewer this season.

Sequim had a 13-6 lead after one quarter and 25-18 lead at halftime before Olympic tied the game going into a seesaw fourth quarter. The teams were tied 42-42 at the end of regulation and 46-46 after the first overtime.

Sequim (2-6 in Olympic League, 5-7 overall) had less success against another 3A

foe earlier in the week:

Bremerton topped the Wolves 54-38 in Bremerton Jan. 13.

Sequim got 12 points from Webb and 10 from Textor.

Josh Koets led the Knights with 19 points, helping them turn a 16-13 first-quarter Sequim lead into a 38-24 Bremerton advantage after three quarters.

The Knights held Sequim to just four points in each of the second and third quarters.

Sequim was slated to play Klahowya at home on Jan. 20 - results were unavailable at press time. The Wolves host Bremerton on Jan. 23.

Best SHS game ever? — revisited

For those of you keeping up with the blog, I’ve posted a few times about my favorite Sequim prep games these last 10 years. I was thumbing through the old files for this one, and thought it might be fun to revisit one of SHS’s best football games of all time.

Don’t get me wrong: Reclassifying prep teams is, in general, a good thing. But THIS isn’t going to work.
