Showing off for the locals?

Garth McCaleb won the senior boys All-Round Saddle while Jai Lynn Sage Taylor took the Buckaroo division as local riders enjoyed a successful 2008 Port Angeles Junior Rodeo Aug. 23-24. The event drew more than 130 riders from across Western Washington.

"Thanks to all of the generous sponsors and donors, the Peninsula Junior Rodeo in Port Angeles was a great event," team coach Katie Salmon-Newton said. "We really appreciate all of the individuals and businesses who donate so that we can put this on for the kids."

PJRA riders also faced some tough competition at the Sumas Junior Rodeo Aug. 30-31; results for both events are listed below.
