Jeff Catton was a terror for opponents on Olympic Peninsula soccer fields as a Sequim High Wolf.

Now he has the chance to do the same for two more years as a Pirate.

Catton and three other prep soccer stars signed on to play for Andrew Chapman at Peninsula College next fall, joining a team that placed a school-best fourth at the NWAACC tournament in 2007.

Catton, a 5-foot-9 midfielder for the Wolves, was a three-year starter and captain this spring. His 24 career assists rank just one behind the school record holder (Vann Brasher). He also scored 13 goals at SHS, including eight in 2007.

Catton played for the Storm King select soccer club.

"Jeff has great vision and hits fantastic long balls into corners with both feet," Chapman said. "Jeff is the player that will not stop working until the game/practice is over."

Also joining the squad are Omar Anderson, Cory Matthews and John Troka.

Anderson is a 5-foot-10 defender/midfielder from East High School in Anchorage, Alaska. He helped his team last year to a fourth-place finish at the state finals.

"Omar is of Jamaican descent and plays with their flair - he also is very strong on and off the ball," Chapman said.

Matthews is a 5-foot-9 midfielder from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard. He has been a starter for the past two years and has helped his team to a first-place Narrows Division finish and a trip to the class 4A state playoffs.

"Cory is fast, with good vision of the field," Chapman said. "He works really hard and will win everything around him." Last month, the Pirates signed his teammate from South Kitsap, Ryan Muyskens, a 5-foot-10 midfielder/defender.

Troka, 5-foot-9 midfielder from Kingston High School, started for Kingston this spring and for three years at North Kitsap High School. Troka helped Kingston finish No. 1 in the Olympic League and earn a trip to the state tournament.

"John is a soccer gym rat, he loves to play the game every chance he gets," Chapman said. "He is very quick and fast and has the ability to take the game over."
