Dorothy McComb
A service was held for Sequim resident Dorothy McComb, who died May 1, 2009, at the age of 74 of a stroke.
She was born Aug. 10, 1934, in Sequim, to Willard Merton and Margaret Katherine Gleich Fiddler.
She graduated from
Sequim High School in 1952 and married George Samuel McComb on Aug. 13, 1954, in Sequim. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1993.
Mrs. McComb spent many years working beside her husband on the family farm. She worked the past 13 years as a security guard for Battelle Marine Science Laboratory. She attended Independent Bible Church in Port Angeles.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Michelle McComb of Eugene, Ore.; Pat McComb of Sequim; and Steve McComb of Springfield, Mo.; daughters and son-in-law Leann McComb of Port Angeles, Marianne Pierce of Tucson, Ariz., and Juliann and Dave Burkett of Atascadero, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Gene and Esther Fiddler of Sequim; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Leonard Emory of Lake Stevens; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Independent Bible Church Benevolent Fund, 104 N. Lincoln St., Port Angeles, or the Port Angeles Education Foundation Scholarship Fund.
Myrtle Marie Jackson
A service for Port Angeles resident Myrtle Marie Jackson, who died May 7, 2009, at the age of 88, will be at 1 p.m. on May 17 at Fairview Bible Church in Port Angeles.
She was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Cowiche to James Edward Sommerville and Eula Marian (Smith) Sommerville.

Alice J. Grothe
At her request, no service will be held for Port Angeles resident Alice J. Grothe, who died May 1, 2009, at the age of 79 of lung cancer.
She was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Badger, Minn., to Joseph and Marguerite Foster Tauer.
She married Dallas A. Grothe on June 23, 1947, in Greenbush, Minn. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2008. A homemaker, she also worked in farming in Badger. In 1958, Mrs. Grothe moved to Cheney. She was a school secretary until her retirement. She moved to Port Angeles in 2005.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law Daniel Grothe, of Yuma, Ariz.; Robert Grothe, of Spokane; and Brent and Jan Grothe, of Wenatchee; daughters and son-in-law LaNae and David Firch of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Karen Cross of Port Angeles; daughter-in-law Nancy Grothe, of Spokane; 11 grandchildren; and 19 nephews and nieces.
Ivory Brummet
A celebration of life for Sequim resident Ivory Brummet will be held at a later date. Mr. Brummet died May 6, 2009, at the age of 87 of cancer. He was born April 13, 1922, in Gandy, Neb., to Ivory and Vera Mae Hatcher Brummet.
He married Ruth Enger on Nov. 4, 1944, in Del Rio, Texas. She preceded him in death. He married his wife, Peggy, on April 12, 1986, in Everett.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1943-1945 and was a United Airlines pilot.
He moved to Sequim in 1997 and was a member of Sequim Community Church; Seattle Museum of Flight; Port Townsend Aero Museum; and SEA Gooneybirds.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Gary Henriksen; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his son Clayton.
