Richard L. 'Dick' Stuhr
A private family service will be held at a later date for Sequim resident Richard "Dick" Stuhr, who died Jan. 17, 2009, at 83, of congestive heart failure.
He was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Puyallup, to Lionel and Helen Paterson Stuhr.
He spent his early years in what was then Elhi Hill, an area between Sumner and Buckley now known as Bonney Lake or Lake Tapps. He moved to Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School.
Mr. Stuhr spent two years at the University of Washington before joining the Army, where he was with the occupation forces in Manila as a clerk. After his discharge, he returned to the University of Washington and completed his degree in engineering.
He married Marjorie Clark on June 26, 1948. He worked for St. Paul & Tacoma Lumber Company as a logging engineer and at Bechtel in Bellingham for a short time until he joined Rushkin Fisher & Associates in 1954. He became a partner in the company in 1962 and eventually became vice president. In 1961, he was state president of the Land Surveyors of Washington.
He became an investor in SunLand Associates, the developer of SunLand and on-site manager of the project. He was instrumental in the formation of the SunLand Golf & Country Club, SunLand Water and Sewer District and in planning the residential growth of SunLand. He also was president of SunLand Golf & Country Club, SunLand Owners Association and manager of SunLand Water District. After his retirement from the water district, he remained involved in the completion of SunLand.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Clark Stuhr; sons, Michael, Timothy and William; daughter-in-law Linda; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his sister Mary.

Zella I. Cambridge
No service was reported for Sequim resident Zella I. Cambridge, who died Jan. 20, 2009, at the age of 85.
She was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Mossy Rock to Lew and Mina May Weston Cambridge. She also lived in Centralia and Longview.
She is survived by a great-nephew and a great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her sister Leota Yeager, a nephew and a niece-in-law.
Beth Lynn Schaumberg Reinertsen
A memorial service was held for Sequim resident Beth Lynn Schaumberg Reinertsen, who died Jan. 22, 2009, at the age of 55 of cancer.
She was born May 8, 1953, in Auburn to Roy and Mary Busby Schaumberg.
She graduated from Federal Way High School in 1971 and the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1985.
She was church secretary for Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church for more than 10 years.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Dr. Gene and Terrie Schaumberg of Ridgefield; Dr. John and Beth Schaumberg of The Woodlands, Texas; seven nephews and nieces, and nine great-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ron Schaumberg and a niece.

Peter James Redgrave
A memorial service will be held at a later date for Sequim resident Peter James Redgrave, who died Jan. 23, 2009, at the age of 74.
He was born April 11, 1934, in London, England, to Benjamin and Minnie Redgrave.
Growing up, he endured The Blitz and rocket attacks in World War II. He moved with his family to the London suburb of Southall in 1943.
He graduated from Southall Technical College in mechanical engineering and served a five-year indentured apprenticeship with the Sperry Gyroscope Company as a precision instrument maker.
He then served two years in the Royal Navy as a chief petty officer and electrical artificer following graduation from the Naval Electrical College.
He and his wife, Esther, married on June 19, 1954. The couple immigrated to Canada in 1957 and to Asheville, N.C., in 1961. They became United States citizens in 1966.
Mr. Redgrave held positions at Hobart, Collingwood Shipyards, Avro Aircraft Company, Muirhead and Kearfott Company, later to become Singer Aerospace. He became a certified manufacturing engineer in 1979. After 19 years in Asheville, in 1981 the Redgraves moved to Kalamazoo, Mich., where he worked at NWL Aerospace, Western Gear and Lucas Aerospace before retiring to Sequim in 1996.
He was a pioneering expert in the user of lasers in manufacturing and ultimately was a chief manufacturing engineer. He taught at Buncombe Technical College for 10 years.
His name is listed on the Smithsonian Institute's National Aviation and Space Wall of Honor at Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C.
He became a Mason in North Carolina in 1965 and was a lifetime member of Sequim Lodge 213. He was a Rotary chairman in Black Mountain, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Esther; son Chris of Bend, Ore.; son and daughter-in-law Jonathan and Vickie, of Midland, Mich.; and sister Nina of the United Kingdom; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Clarina McInnes
A funeral Mass was celebrated for Port Angeles resident Clarina McInnes, who died Jan. 19, 2009, at the age of 87 of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Winsted, Minn., to Joseph and Appolonia Teresa Stifter Fasching.
She paid for her own high school education, then attended business school. She worked for a doctor's office in Winsted and a construction office in Los Angeles, Calif., before she married Donald J. McInnes on Sept. 11, 1943, in Los Angeles. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2000.
Mrs. McInnes traveled with her husband while he was in the Army to Antioch, Calif.; Bryan, Texas; and Louisville, Ky. After the war, they moved to Los Angeles before they moved to Sequim in 1948 and then to Port Angeles in 1955. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Port Angeles; St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sequim; St. Lucia's Guild and St. Benedict Guild. She was a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul.
Mrs. McInnes is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Jackie of Ridgefield; Don and Casey of Port Angeles; Dean of Seattle; Kevin of Bryan, Texas; John and Pam of Bellevue; and Chris and Susan of Seattle; daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Jory of Victor, Mont.; brothers Ed and Joe of Minnesota and Jack of California; sisters Irene Otto; Luella Kaczmarek; Marietta Nowak; Grace Nolan; Rose Mallak; and Linda Ruhland of Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Greg; daughter Mary; and brothers Bert and Fintan.

Robert 'Bob' DeLand
Private services will be held for Port Angeles resident Robert 'Bob' DeLand, who died Jan. 27, 2009, at the age of 85 of Alzheimer's disease.
He was born April 11, 1923, in Appleton, Wis., to Robin Donald and Mildred Sherman DeLand.
He attended public and parochial schools, graduating from Appleton High School in June 1941. After his discharge from the military he attended Golden Gate College in San Francisco, earning a degree in accounting. Mr. DeLand established an accounting practice in Visalia, Calif., and practiced there for 16 years, then worked as an auditor for the state of California for 12 years. He lived in Visalia for 40 years before moving to Port Angeles in 1995.
He married Patricia Douglas in 1945 in Porterville, Calif. She preceded him in death in 1971. He married Dorothy Conaway in 1972.
Mr. DeLand was an enthusiastic league bowler, experimented with several sizes of boats and motorcycles, and toured much of the country in his motor home. He also had a 53-year history of flying and owned a variety of planes.
He was a member of the board of directors of the Tuberculosis Association for 16 years; Hear Foundation for six years; Serenity House in Port Angeles; president of the Accounting Society; and a member of Power Squadron, Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 430 and Airport Advisory Board of Port Angeles.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy DeLand of Port Angeles; son Mark DeLand of Eugene, Ore.; step-son Richard Conaway of Farmersville, Calif.; daughter Danna Easton of Sacramento, Calif.; step-daughters Lorna Sisk of Fresno and Lois Constantino of Federal Way; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Port Angeles resident Grace E. Jensen will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at Independent Bible Church, 116 E. Ahlvers Road, Port Angeles.
Mrs. Jensen died Jan. 20, 2009, at 83 of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Port Angeles to Waldo S. and Zada F. Mowery Loucks. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1943.
She married Gary Jensen on March 16, 1968, in Port Angeles. She worked at Port Angeles Shipyard and Pioneer National Title. She was a member of Independent Bible Church and Soroptimists.
Mrs. Jensen is survived by her husband, Gary Jensen of Port Angeles; step-son and daughter-in-law James and Marla Jensen of Kent; step-daughter Janet Jensen of Kent; brother and sister-in-law Jasper and Margaret Loucks of Port Angeles; sister-in-law Florence; sister Ruth Davis; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Earl Loucks and Paul Loucks; sister and brother-in-law Florance and Benjamin Hutchinson; and brother-in-law Charles.

Eldauna Schenefeld
A memorial service was held for Port Angeles resident Eldauna Schenefeld, who died Jan. 22, 2009, at the age of 88.
She was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Walla Walla to Leonard and Bell Bundy Dollarhide. Her family moved to Port Angeles when she was 4 years old and she graduated from Port Angeles Senior High School.
She married Jake Schenefeld on June 29, 1941. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1998. Mrs. Schenefeld was a manager at local credit unions.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Port Angeles.
She is survived by daughters and son-in-law Jackie Hanes of North Plains, Ore.; Beverly and Rick Tobias of Mexico; and Sheila Schenefeld of Port Angeles; son Dana Schenefeld of Florida; brother Bert Schenefeld of Nevada; sister Lemae Runnion of Port Angeles; and three grandchildren.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
John L. 'Pete' Peterson
At his request, no service was planned for Port Angeles resident John L. "Pete" Peterson, who died Jan. 22, 2009, at the age of 91.
He was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Madras, India, to Robert Leroy and Zella Alliger Peterson.
He married Helen Barnett Greene on Sept. 11, 1938, in Bellingham. He graduated from the American Institute of Laundering in Illinois and served in the United States Army during World War II as an arms instructor.
Mr. Peterson worked in laundry management when he lived in Juneau, Alaska, from 1946-50. He worked in citrus product sales in the Rocky Mountain area while living in Englewood, Colo. He was a Shriner and a member of Scottish Rite and Masonic Order.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Peterson of Port Angeles; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Marilyn Peterson of San Martin, Calif.; daughter Merrily Williams of Parker, Colo.; sister Margaret Ann Peterson of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
