DUI campign nets 24 stops

Results are in from the state’s recent Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over DUI enforcement campaign, conducted from Nov. 21, 2012, through Jan. 1.
In Clallam County, 24 motorists were stopped and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), and statewide law enforcement officers arrested 3,446 drivers for DUI. Last year in Clallam County, during the same time period, officers on routine and extra patrols arrested 26 people for DUI.
The extra patrols were funded by a grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission. For more information about the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, visit www.wtsc.wa.gov.
