Bill Schade and Bret Wirta of Quality Inn & Suites hotel of Sequim, have received awards from the inn's franchisor, Choice Hotels.
Schade received the Maintenance Service Excellence Award, given to hotels and individuals that surpass a guest's service expectations.
An excerpt from Schade's award nomination says:
"Bill has spent endless hours since the property opened ensuring the hotel is well maintained. During recent winter storms, Bill, on his own initiative, chose to clear the snow from guest vehicles. Several guests commented on his actions, claiming it to be unbelievable service."
Wirta, the hotel's owner, received the Eco-Excellence Award for increasing green operations to better the environment.
From his nomination:
"Bret Wirta has taken conservation to new heights. This hotel was one of the first hotels in its region to sign up for the 'Room to be Green' program from Choice Hotels and was awarded the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Designation."
The hotel is at 134 River Road, Sequim. Call 683-2800.
