Veteran Master Gardener Janice Noonan will answer questions about Northwest native plants in home gardens at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road, Sequim. She will present the basic principles of native landscaping, including plants that will attract birds and butterflies.
She will provide a list of local and long-distance resources for native plant materials, including local noncommercial plant sales; informative and helpful Web sites; and local classes, educational walks and public gardens for inspiration.
Noonan said, "If you are new to the Pacific Northwest and have nothing but questions about Northwest natives or you are desirous of changing the focus of your garden or simply want to weave natives into your garden landscape, this discussion will serve as a good launching pad."
The presentation is free and open to the public. For questions, call 417-2279.
