Cindy Sheehan will speak at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 26, at the Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship hall, 73 Howe Road, off Barr Road in Agnew.
Sheehan became known internationally after camping near former president George W. Bush's home in August 2005. She began protesting war full time after her oldest son, Casey, was killed in April 2004 while serving in the military in Iraq.
In 2005, Sheehan was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for her anti-war efforts and writings.
She has published three books and will be promoting her new Internet booklet, "Myth America: 10 Greatest Myths of the Robber Class and the Case for Revolution."
Larry Howard, organizer for the event at the church, said the event is open to all.
"Unitarians are interested in what's happening," he said.
"We have an eclectic and broad interest in things. This isn't particularly a religious experience."
