Residents of Sequim celebrated Independence Day in song and on signs close to home and aboard a float in Forks' Old-Fashioned Fourth of July celebration.

The Peninsula Men's Chorus, top left, led a crowd of hundreds, far left, at the James Center for the Performing Arts. They were joined by the Sequim City Band. Patriotic numbers included "God Bless America," "America the Beautiful" and "Yankee Doodle."

At the corner of Washington Street and Sequim Avenue, demonstrators made their positions plain at a "Freedom Rally," above. One of many across the country, the rally was billed as a Taxed Enough Already -- TEA - Party.

Meanwhile, in Clallam County's West End, the

Sequim Irrigation Festival royalty joined the annual Forks parade, left.
