Students of Sequim High School's Future Business Leaders of America club capped a successful year, with 21 members placing at their regional winter leadership conference in Bremerton and on to the state conference in Spokane.
Two Sequim members placed in the top five in their individual events at state: Olivia Boots took fourth place in Client Services and Katlyn Edwards placed fifth in Spreadsheet Applications.
With support and best wishes from the club, Edwards is representing Washington state at the national leadership conference in Anaheim, Calif., on June 23-27.
In order to raise funds to send members to the national fall leadership conference in Denver, the club is hosting a car wash from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 in the Tarciscio's parking lot, 609 W. Washington St.
FBLA new officers
Sequim's FBLA club elected new officers for the 2009-2010 school year. They are: Alisa Lee, president; Emily Madsen, vice president; Katlyn Edwards, secretary; Nicole Masangkay, treasurer; Sarah Boucher, public relations; Katie Allen, historian; and Parker Steichen, parliamentarian.
