Senior menu

Here are the Sequim Senior Nutrition Site menus, served at 4:30 p.m. at Suncrest Village Retirement Apartments, 251 S. Fifth Ave. Suggested donation $3. Menus are subject to change.

Wednesday May 6 - Blueberry almond Waldorf salad, chicken marsala, roasted potatoes, asparagus, strawberry shortcake

Thursday May 7 - Cook's choice

Friday May 8 - Green salad, southern macaroni and cheese, baked tomato, fresh melon slice

Monday May 11 - Green salad, tuna noodle casserole, California mixed vegetables, mixed berries with cream

Tuesday May 12 - Ambrosia, salisbury steak, whipped potatoes and gravy, steamed greens, brownie.



Share the joy of art

The Landings Art Gallery, 115 E. Railroad Ave., in Port Angeles is celebrating its grand opening from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 8. Refreshments available. 452-2604.



Carriers pick up for food drive

Carriers and volunteers will pick up donations placed on or adjacent to mailboxes for the 17th annual Letter Carriers' Food Drive on Saturday, May 16.

Pick-up begins at 8 a.m.



Upcoming veterans' rally

A rally to raise money for the Lloyd Strand Veteran's Relief Fund will be from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road, Sequim. The fund helps needy veterans and their families.

It will include a raffle, bake sale, free picnic lunch (hot dogs, soft drinks, chips), auction, clowns and live entertainment. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Lloyd Strand was a lifetime member of the VFW and his widow and daughter started the relief fund in his memory.
